The Gentlemen’s Club defeated the KP Warriors in the 2011 Mens League Finals 10-9 in overtime. The overtime goal was scored by James Vickory (Xaverian/Emory ) at the 1:44  mark of the first overtime period.

The KP  Warriors led throughout the game  behind strong offensive performances of Andrew Higgins (King Philip/Berkshire/Union) 2 goals and  brother Mark Higgins ( King Philip/Kent/St Mikes) 2 goals and Matty Schairer ( King Philip/Keene State) 1 goals 3 assists along with John Cuozzo ( King Philip/Southern New Hampshire)  1 goal  and some top defensive play by Andrew Sutton ( King Philip.U-Mass Boston) who also chipped in with a goal.

The Warriors led the game 9-6 with just over 2 minuted to play in regulation but the “The Club” would not be denied as the team led the league all summer and came into the game as the #1 seed.  Brendan Grant ( Xaverian/Bentley) who  led all scorers with 4 goals  and Peter Burke ( St.Sebastion/Bucknell) made sure that the team hung around long enough to get the winner. Peter Burke was oustanding at the face off mark winning the last three criticial and also scoring the tying goal with 5 seconds left in the game.  Strong goal tending by Chris Herbert ( Xaverian /Deleware) for the Club and Andrew Marks (King Philip/Brewster/URI) for the Warriors made the game a nail bitter to the very end.
