In a hard-fought game against rival NH Tomahawks Purple, the PrimeTime Power Penguins ‘98/’99 Blue team captured the U13-AAA Championship at the 2011 PrimeTime Warrior Shootout. The team, who tied the Tomahawks the night before, overcame an early deficit to take the championship. Coaches Bussy Adam and Keith Campbell lead the team through an impressive group stage before squeezing out the 2-goal win.
After a stellar defensive effort by goalie Michael Toomey all weekend, the Penguin defense only allowed five goals in the tournament’s final tilt. After Logan Liljeberg won another faceoff, Johnny Piatelli notched a key goal for Penguins in the first half. In this back-and-forth contest, both teams were forced to capitalize on few scoring opportunities. In the end, it was the Penguins who came out on top. As the final whistle blew, Penguins players stormed the field in celebration, tossing helmets and gloves high into the air.
