PrimeTime Lacrosse is excited to announce that Marco Barbone will join the team as General Manager of the Penguins Select teams. Marco enters his second season as an Assistant Coach at UMass-Boston after spending two years coaching at his alma mater, Wheaton College.
After graduating from Wheaton in ’09 with a double major in economics and psychology, Barbone has spent the last year working full-time as a special educator in the Newton North Public Schools—where Marco also graduated from in ’05 and played under current Penguins coach Bussy Adam. While at Wheaton, Barbone was also an active member of the Wheaton Athletic Mentors, representing the institution’s student-athlete advisory committee.
During his four-year tenure on the Wheaton varsity lacrosse team, Barbone appeared in a school-record 64 games, mostly as a starting defender. Serving as a team captain his senior year, Marco finished his career with 15 goals and helped his team advance to the Pilgrim League Championship in two consecutive seasons.
According to co-founder Tyler Low, PrimeTime Lacrosse is “constantly striving to better itself as an organization. With Marco on our team, we can feel confident that we will have only the highest quality individuals instructing our players. Marco will lead the organization and scheduling of all Penguins Select teams as an instrumental member of the PrimeTime Lacrosse family.”
