Another Winning Weekend for the Power Penguins!

After a successful run at the PrimeTime Warrior Shootout, Power Penguins teams of all ages took to the field at the Bryant Bulldog Classic. Hosted by Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, the Bulldog Classic saw teams from all over the East Coast compete for a championship. With seven PrimeTime Power Penguins teams in attendance, players and coaches looked to build off the success of earlier practices and tournaments.

At the Under-11 division, the Power Penguins ‘00/’01 team was dominant throughout the tournament. After defeating both NESLL and NH Tomahawks squads, the Penguins rolled into the playoffs with an undefeated record before falling in the tournament semi-finals.

Facing off against teams from Florida to New York, the Power Penguins High School teams faced strong competition in their first tournament of the summer. The Orange team compiled a respectable 2-2 record while the Blue team also went 2-2 before falling in the playoffs to Select Lacrosse. The Blue team’s run featured a high-scoring win over the Elite Gulls, 10-7.

Carrying a 3-1 record into the playoffs, the Power Penguins South Shore team was rolling with wins over Mass Elite and NH Tomahawks. However, the team would meet its match in the semifinal round, eventually falling to NESLL Black. Similarly, ‘96/’97 Penguins displayed a strong performance throughout the weekend. The team, led by Coach Jack Piatelli, put up a combined 42 goals in its first three wins and finished the tournament with a 4-1 record.

After winning the PrimeTime Warrior Shootout, the Power Penguins ‘98/’99 Blue team continued its winning ways in Rhode Island. This talented team, led by coaches Bussy Adam and Keith Campbell, amassed an undefeated record in qualifying play with wins over Next Level, NH Tomahawks, and NESLL Black North. The playoffs featured two dominant performances by the Penguins, beating Blues Lacrosse 9-2 in the semifinals and triumphing over Long Island Riptide 6-2 to capture the Bulldog Classic championship.
